StubHub is a ticket company focused around ticket resales and exchanges. It was set up as a simple platform for concertgoers and sports fans to easily sell tickets to events in a peer-to-peer format. The company is over 20 years old, as it was founded in 2000 by two Stanford-educated business executives, Eric Baker and Jeff Fluhr. The two owned the company until it was acquired by eBay in 2007. Later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, an investment team led by Eric Baker bought the company back for just over $4 billion.

The company operates as a clearinghouse, or middleman, for ticket sellers and buyers. Because it is a resale platform, shoppers can find tickets to events on the site that would be otherwise impossible to find. They can also find tickets to events for much lower than the face value of the retail price of the tickets. Often, the tickets sold to events are sold by season ticketholders who aren't using them that day.
